This is the type of movie people will want to see. People love to imagine themselves with telekinetic powers and will see this and partially live vicariously through it. The Blair Witch Project / Cloverfield hand held camera documenting the series of events helps aid this. Like those movies, this one uses relatively unknown actors to make you feel like you could be one of the group and that helps bring you in.

The biggest issue facing Chronicle is that it takes around an hour before anything starts really happening. If you take a quick look above at how long the movie is, the hour of little action is a tad frustrating. It’s not a suspenseful hour of anticipation, it’s merely one of back story and slowly growing powers. All in all, it’s worth a watch and an argument could be made that it’s better for a theater, but not for me. With large LED or LCD  TVs and surround sound systems in most households nowadays, you could wait… but… the big dark movie theater with the shaky hand held camera will draw you into the movie better. If you are like me and check out just about every movie, good, bad, and mediocre… I would recommend the theater.

My Rating: 2 / 4

About Scott Fish

I started playing fantasy football in 1992, I have a dog name Fred (who refuses to learn how to play fantasy football) and a baby boy (Iain). He will be a Vikings fan or else. My biggest claim to fame: I am the inventor/creator of College Farm System Dynasty Leagues, now widely called developmental dynasty leagues. It might be my greatest creation (don't tell my son or wife that). Web designer on the side. Always willing to help out my fantasy football community family.
